A popular attraction for the La Esperanza visitor is Los Hoyos hill at the Valle de Azacualpa in Mount El Cidral. Like its name, Los Hoyos hill is a series of almost perfect cylindrical holes along the east side of the cloud forest. The holes are 80cm in diameter and vary in depth. Visitors should always remain within the trails to avoid falling in a hole that, locals claim to have been built by aliens.

The enthusiastic hiker can reach Los Hoyos in 90 minutes by foot from La Esperanza, a beautiful walk in the midst of the cloud forest.
